How to install League of Legends on elementary OS 5.1 Hera


Today we are looking at how to install League of Legends on Elementary OS 5.1.  This installation guide exists out of 3 parts.  In the first part, we install Win Stable, the first 6 commands below.  After that we install Lutris, and lastly, we open up the league of legends lutris page and install it from there.  Enjoy!

The fourth command installs a package which enables us to add repositories to elementary OS, like command 5 and 7.

Ps.  Since the release of Wine 5.0, the installation of Wine has changed, we updated the commands in this tutorial, and here is an updated video guide.


Instructions:
1) sudo dpkg --add-architecture i386
2) wget -nc https://dl.winehq.org/wine-builds/winehq.key
3) sudo apt-key add winehq.key

4) sudo apt-key adv --keyserver keyserver.ubuntu.com --recv-keys DFA175A75104960E
5) sudo apt install software-properties-common 
6) sudo apt-add-repository 'deb https://dl.winehq.org/wine-builds/ubuntu/ bionic main' 
7) sudo apt-add-repository 'deb https://download.opensuse.org/repositories/Emulators:/Wine:/Debian/xUbuntu_18.04/ ./'
8) sudo apt install --install-recommends winehq-stable
9) winecfg

Install Lutris
10) sudo add-apt-repository ppa:lutris-team/lutris
11) sudo apt-get install lutris
12) sudo bash -c 'echo "abi.vsyscall32 = 0" >> /etc/sysctl.conf && sysctl -p'

Download LOL Installer and install it with Lutris:
10) https://lutris.net/games/league-of-legends/
