How to install Steam on a Chromebook


Today we are looking at how to install Steam on a Chromebook.

As seen in the video below, we firstly enable Linux Apps on our system, then we download the Steam installation package from the website and move the package from our Download folder to our Linux Apps folder.  After that, we change the name of the package to steam.deb (for in case the name of the package change, the commands will still be the same,  and working) and then we install it on our system with the three commands below.  Enjoy!

Update: Since making this video, a couple of people received error messages relating to 32-bit packages, so we would recommend that you install Steam with this method as it fixes most of these issues if you have a Chromebook with an Intel or AMD CPU if you Chromebook have an ARM64 CPU then Steam won't work on it as Steam does not support the ARM66 architecture.

Commands Used:
1) sudo apt update
2) sudo dpkg -i steam.deb
3) sudo apt -f install
