How to install LMMS on a Chromebook

Today we are looking at how to install LMMS, a free music production application, on a Chromebook.  Please follow the video/audio guide as a tutorial where we explain the process step by step and use the commands below.

If you have any questions, please contact us via a YouTube comment and we would be happy to assist you!

Update:  Since the release of Chrome OS 84, it is no longer required to enable the microphone setting as it has been brought to the stable channel.  you can just go to the system settings, to the Linux apps section (as seen in the video), and enable audio input for Linux apps.

Please take note that with the release of Chrome OS 90,  the location of Linux Apps has been changed in the Chromebook’s settings.  Have a look at this tutorial, to see how to turn on Linux apps and then continue with the installation tutorial.

Commands Used:
sudo apt update
sudo apt install lmms
