How to install Runelite on a Chromebook - Revised Tutorial


Today we are looking at how to install Runelite, also known as Old School Runescape, on a Chromebook.  Please follow the video/audio guide as a tutorial where we explain the process step by step and use the commands below.

It is a legal client for Old School Runescape, a massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG),  it is a fantasy game with good and evil characters.  If you wonder if the game is for you, please search for reviews online and decide for yourself.

Please take note that with the release of Chrome OS 90,  the location of Linux Apps has been changed in the Chromebook’s settings.  Have a look at this tutorial, to see how to turn on Linux apps and then continue with the installation tutorial.

Instructions:
1) wget https://github.com/runelite/launcher/releases/download/2.1.3/RuneLite.AppImage
2) chmod a+x RuneLite.AppImage
3) sudo apt update
4) sudo apt install menulibre
5) menulibre
