How to install VideoPad video editor on a Chromebook


Today we are looking at how to install VideoPad video editor on a Chromebook.  Please follow the video/audio guide as a tutorial where we explain the process step by step and use the commands below.

This tutorial will only work on Chromebooks with an Intel or AMD CPU (with Linux Apps Support) and not those with an ARM64 architecture CPU.

We recommend that you use a new Linux Apps session when starting this tutorial.

Commands Used:
1) sudo dpkg --add-architecture i386
2) sudo apt update
3) sudo apt install wine winbind
4) winecfg
5) wget -c https://www.nch.com.au/components/vpsetup.exe
6) wine vpsetup.exe
7) wine .wine/drive_c/Program\ Files\ \(x86\)/NCH\ Software/VideoPad/videopad.exe 
8) ln -s  /home/username/.wine/drive_c/users/username /home/username/wine
