How to install older versions of Firefox on Ubuntu 18.04


Today we are looking at how to install Older Versions of Firefox on Ubuntu 18.04, this will work on all supported versions of Ubuntu.

We will also look at, in the video, how to integrate this version of Firefox nicely into Ubuntu.  Enjoy!

Remember, as shown in the video, that a person needs to turn off the automatic updates in Firefox, to keep the older version, otherwise you will soon have the latest version again.

Instructions:
1) Download FireFox
https://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/firefox/releases/

2) Extract Package

3) Move the installation a to place where all users on the system can access it
sudo mv firefox /opt/firefox

4) Add to the menu
sudo apt-get install alacarte
* command will be the path to firefox executable as shown in the videos
* the icon will either be found in the folder called chrome or browser depending on the version of Firefox you are installing.

5) Turn your internet off for a second

6) Turn of automatic updates

7) Turn your internet on
