How to install Darktable 3.0 on a Chromebook

Today we are looking at how to install Darktable 3.0 or the newest version on a Chromebook! We created a video for a visual guide as well as an audio guide.  We hope that you will find it helpful.  Please find the instructions below to install Darktable, it is the same as those which we used in the video.

We used Flatpak to install Darktable as we get the latest version, where the version of Darktable which is in the Linux repository on your Chromebook is older.

Please take note that with the release of Chrome OS 90,  the location of Linux Apps has been changed in the Chromebook’s settings.  Have a look at this tutorial, to see how to turn on Linux apps and then continue with the installation tutorial.
Instructions:
1) sudo apt update
2) sudo apt install flatpak
3) sudo flatpak remote-add --if-not-exists flathub https://flathub.org/repo/flathub.flatpakrepo
4) sudo flatpak install flathub org.darktable.Darktable
