How to install Wine 3.0.4 on Linux Mint 19.1

Today we are looking at how to install the latest version of Wine Stable on Linux Mint 19.1.  Currently, it is 3.0.4 and whenever there is a newer stable version available you will get it via the normal system updates!  Enjoy!

Ps.  I updated the commands because Wine HQ changed the installation commands since making the video, so just copy/paste these commands!

Commands Used:
sudo dpkg --add-architecture i386
wget -nc https://dl.winehq.org/wine-builds/winehq.key
sudo apt-key add winehq.key
sudo apt-add-repository 'deb https://dl.winehq.org/wine-builds/ubuntu/ bionic main'
sudo apt update
sudo apt install --install-recommends winehq-stable

Commands are based on this:

    1. Hi, i see that you have cosmic in your error message, which should be bionic. Cosmic is ubuntu 18.10's code name. so i will recommend that you open up the snapshot tool, timeshift and restore your system to what is was before you ran these commands and then check out my new post of wine 4.0 on linux mint 19.1 https://www.linuxmadesimple.info/2019/01/how-to-install-wine-40-on-linux-mint-191.html
