How to install Drawing on a Chromebook

Today we are looking at how to install Drawing, which is very similar to Microsoft Paint, on a Chromebook!  It can look a bit challenging but possible for sure!  We created a video for a visual guide as well as an audio guide.  We hope that you will find it helpful.  Please find the instructions below to install Inkscape, it is the same as those which we used in the video.

We used Flatpak to install Drawing with as we get the latest version, where the version of Inkscape which is in the Linux repository on your Chromebook is much older.

Update - Since the release of Chrome OS 80, the Linux Apps have been upgraded and the installation process has become much easier.  We removed the commands which are no longer needed, so you can just ignore those steps in the video and only do the steps with commands below.  Please comment on the YouTube video, if you need any assistance or if you would like an updated video!
