Today we are looking at how to install Krita 4.2.8 on a Chromebook. Please follow the video/audio guide as a tutorial where we explain the process step by step and use the commands below.
In the past, we created a video to install the latest version of Krita as a Flatpak, but with the release of Krita 4.2.9, which was a lot of changes in the backend, according to their release notes, it, unfortunately, stopped to work on a Chromebook, so we created this method. We hope the issue will be fixed soon.
1) wget https://download.kde.org/stable/krita/4.2.8/krita-4.2.8-x86_64.appimage
2) sudo chmod a+x krita-4.2.8-x86_64.appimage
3) sudo apt install menulibre
4) menulibre

Update: In Chrome OS 83 Linux Apps has an option now, not seen in this video as it was recorded before Chrome OS 83, to choose a username for your Linux Apps, it is completely optional and you can just press on the install option to continue, as seen in the video.
