How to install Minetest on a Chromebook


Update:  Minetest stopped to work on Chromebooks, we will be tracking it.  But in the meantime, you can install it via the Google Play Store!  Sorry for the inconvenience!  https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=net.minetest.minetest&hl=en

Today we are looking at how to install Minetest, a free and open-source Minecraft alternate, on a Chromebook.  Please follow the video/audio guide as a tutorial where we explain the process step by step and use the commands below.  Enjoy!

Instructions:
1) sudo apt update
2) sudo apt install minetest

Update:  In Chrome OS 83 Linux Apps has an option now, not seen in this video as it was recorded before Chrome OS 83, to choose a username for your Linux Apps,  it is completely optional and you can just press on the install option to continue, as seen in the video.  Please send us a comment on YouTube if you need assistance!
