How to install Discord Canary on a Chromebook

Today we are looking at how to install Disord Canary, the Alpha Builds of Discord, on a Chromebook.  Please follow the video/audio guide as a tutorial where we explain the process step by step and use the commands below.

If you have any questions, please contact us via a YouTube comment and we would be happy to assist you!

This tutorial will only work on Chromebooks with an Intel or AMD CPU (with Linux Apps Support) and not those with an ARM64 architecture CPU.

I forgot to show in the video, where to turn on audio input for discord, so please have a look at this video, screen sharing, and webcam support, sadly only works with the Google Play and Brower currently.

Please take note that with the release of Chrome OS 90,  the location of Linux Apps has been changed in the Chromebook’s settings.  Have a look at this tutorial, to see how to turn on Linux apps and then continue with the installation tutorial.

Commands Used:
1) sudo apt update
2) wget https://dl-canary.discordapp.net/apps/linux/0.0.119/discord-canary-0.0.119.deb
3) sudo dpkg -i discord-canary-0.0.119.deb
4) sudo apt -f install
