How to install LibreOffice 7 on a Chromebook - all language interfaces included


Today we are looking at how to install LibreOffice 7 on a Chromebook - with all language interfaces included.  Please follow the video/audio guide as a tutorial where we explain the process step by step and use the commands below.

Please take note that with the release of Chrome OS 90,  the location of Linux Apps has been changed in the Chromebook’s settings.  Have a look at this tutorial, to see how to turn on Linux apps and then continue with the installation tutorial.

Update: with the release of Chrome OS 120, the Linux container on a Chromebook has been upgraded to a newer version.  This tutorial still works exactly as in the video, however, the first 3 and last 2 commands are no longer required.  Hope it helps

Commands Used:
1) sudo cp /etc/apt/sources.list sources.list
2) sudo echo deb https://deb.debian.org/debian bookworm main  | sudo tee -a /etc/apt/sources.list
3) sudo apt update
4) sudo apt install libreoffice libreoffice-l10n* libreoffice-gtk3 libreoffice-common libreoffice-core libreoffice-style-elementary
5) sudo mv sources.list /etc/apt/sources.list
6) sudo apt update
