How to install Firefox on a Chromebook


Today we are looking at how to install Firefox on a Chromebook.  Please follow the video/audio guide as a tutorial where we explain the process step by step and use the commands below.

Please take note that with the release of Chrome OS 90,  the location of Linux Apps has been changed in the Chromebook’s settings.  Have a look at this tutorial, to see how to turn on Linux apps and then continue with the installation tutorial.

Commands Used:
1) echo -e "\ndeb http://downloads.sourceforge.net/project/ubuntuzilla/mozilla/apt all main" | sudo tee -a /etc/apt/sources.list > /dev/null
2) sudo apt-key adv --recv-keys --keyserver keyserver.ubuntu.com C1289A29
3) sudo apt-key adv --keyserver keyserver.ubuntu.com --recv-keys B7B9C16F2667CA5C
4) sudo apt-key adv --keyserver keyserver.ubuntu.com --recv-keys CCC158AFC1289A29
5) sudo apt update
6) sudo apt  install firefox-mozilla-build libdbus-glib-1-2
