How to reduce lag in Minecraft on a Chromebook


Today we are looking at how to reduce some lag in Minecraft on a Chromebook.  Please follow the video/audio guide as a tutorial where we explain the process step by step and use the commands below.

Please take note that this only works with Minecraft Java.

If you want to test it out first, before modifying the menu launcher, you can run this command in a Linux terminal to launch Minecraft with this setting.
minecraft-launcher --disable-framerate-limit

Please take note that with the release of Chrome OS 90,  the location of Linux Apps has been changed in the Chromebook’s settings.  Have a look at this tutorial, to see how to turn on Linux apps and then continue with the installation tutorial.

Commands Used:
1) sudo apt install menulibre
2) menulibre
3) --disable-framerate-limit
