How to install ImageJ on a Chromebook


Today we are looking at how to install ImageJ on a Chromebook.  Please follow the video/audio guide as a tutorial where we explain the process step by step and use the commands below.

This tutorial will only work on Chromebooks with an Intel or AMD CPU (with Linux Apps Support) and not those with an ARM64 architecture CPU.

Commands Used:
1) sudo cp /etc/apt/sources.list sources.list
2) sudo echo deb https://deb.debian.org/debian sid main  | sudo tee -a /etc/apt/sources.list
3) sudo apt update
4) sudo apt install java-common openjdk-8*
5) sudo mv sources.list /etc/apt/sources.list
6) sudo apt update
7) wget https://wsr.imagej.net/distros/linux/ij153-linux64-java8.zip
8) unzip ij153-linux64-java8.zip
9) ./ImageJ/ImageJ 
10) sudo apt install menulibre
11) menulibre
