How to install Webull Desktop on a Chromebook - Windows Version


Today we are looking at how to install Webull Desktop on a Chromebook.  Please follow the video/audio guide as a tutorial where we explain the process step by step and use the commands below.

This tutorial will only work on Chromebooks with an Intel or AMD CPU (with Linux Apps Support) and not those with an ARM64 architecture CPU.

Please take note, that as seen in the video, the update process did encounter some errors but worked at the end, we don't know if there are any other errors, if there are, please let us know on Youtube.

Commands Used:
1) sudo dpkg --add-architecture i386
2) wget -nc https://dl.winehq.org/wine-builds/winehq.key
3) sudo apt-key add winehq.key
4) echo "deb https://dl.winehq.org/wine-builds/debian/ bullseye main" | sudo tee /etc/apt/sources.list.d/wine_chrome_os_made_simple.list
5) sudo apt update
6) sudo apt install --install-recommends winehq-stable winbind
7) winecfg
8) wget https://pub.webull.com/us/desktop/Webull%20Desktop%205.4.22u_x86.exe
9) wine Webull\ Desktop\ 5.4.22u_x86.exe 
10) wine .wine/drive_c/Program\ Files\ \(x86\)/Webull\ Desktop/Webull\ Desktop.exe 

Chrome Flags:

Update: with the release of Chrome OS 96, the Linux container on a Chromebook has been upgraded to a newer version.  This tutorial still works exactly as in the video, but it is no longer needed to apply the setting below, in Google Chrome as in the beginning of the video.
