How to install Teamspeak on Ubuntu 19.10

Today we are looking at how to install Teamspeak on Ubuntu 19.10.  There are a few PPAs to install Teamspeak with, but none of them has been updated to 19.10 yet, well at least at the time of writing this article.

We firstly download Teamspeak, then we extract the package and then we install it with the command in step two.  Please make sure that you are running this command from inside the folder which you extracted with the Teamspeak data inside.  I ran through the agreement but if you want to skip it, a person can press q anytime you want.  After that, we are moving the installation to the /opt directory which is a great place to stores third party applications as most third-party applications also store their data there.  Then we test the installation to make sure that it works and lastly with step 5, we install a menu editor and add Teamspeak to your app menu.  Enjoy!

Instructions:
1) Download Teamspeak:

2) Installation:
sudo ./TeamSpeak3-Client-linux*

3) Move installation to a place where all users on the system can access it
sudo mv TeamSpeak3-Client-linux_amd64 /opt/

4) Test installation
/opt/TeamSpeak3-Client-linux_amd64/ts3client_runscript.sh

5) Add Teamspeak to the menu:
install and use menu editor:

sudo apt-get install alacarte

icon location:
/opt/TeamSpeak3-Client-linux_amd64/styles/default/logo-128x128.png
