How to install Minecraft Optifine Shaders on a Chromebook


Today we are looking at how to install Minecraft Optifine Shaders on a Chromebook.  Please follow the video/audio guide as a tutorial where we explain the process step by step and use the commands below.

As mention in the tutorial we show firstly how to install Minecraft (from 0:18), then we show how to install Minecraft Forge (from 5:48), and lastly, we show where to store the Mods (from 8:54).

Please take note that with the release of Chrome OS 90,  the location of Linux Apps has been changed in the Chromebook’s settings.  Have a look at this tutorial, to see how to turn on Linux apps and then continue with the installation tutorial.

Instructions:
1) Install Minecraft:
1.1) sudo apt update
1.2) wget https://launcher.mojang.com/download/Minecraft.deb
1.3) sudo dpkg -i Minecraft.deb
1.4) sudo apt -f install

2) Install Optifine:
2.1) chmod 755 optifine.jar
2.2) java -jar optifine.jar


3) Add Shaders:
unzip mod.zip
go to your linux folder, in your file manager
click on the 3 vertical dots and choose to show hidden files
open the .minecraft folder
create a new folder inside of it called - shaderpacks 
put the shaders inside their
