How to install Raft, by Redbeet Interactive, on a Chromebook

Today we are looking at how to install Raft, an, game on a Chromebook.  Please follow the video/audio guide as a tutorial where we explain the process step by step and use the commands below.

This tutorial will only work on Chromebooks with an Intel or AMD CPU (with Linux Apps Support) and not those with an ARM64 architecture CPU.

Please take note that with the release of Chrome OS 90,  the location of Linux Apps has been changed in the Chromebook’s settings.  Have a look at this tutorial, to see how to turn on Linux apps and then continue with the installation tutorial.

Commands Used:
1) unzip
2) cd V1.04_Raft_LinuxUniversal
3) chmod 755 V1.04_Raft_LinuxUniversal.x86_64
4) ./V1.04_Raft_LinuxUniversal.x86_64
5) sudo apt install menulibre
6) menulibre

  1. This worked but the game is not the same as what it is on YT and stuff. It is lagy and the sensitivity is through the roof. Not quit playable but the game is good just not this version. I should have looked up a 2021 tutorial to get the latest version. That or this is just the only version available on Linux. IDK realy but the time I spent doing this and making sure it was right was not work it sorry to say.
