How to install Microsoft Core Fonts on a Chromebook for Linux Applications


Today we are looking at how to install Microsoft Core Fonts on a Chromebook for Linux Applications.  Please follow the video/audio guide as a tutorial where we explain the process step by step and use the commands below.

Fonts included are Andale Mono, Arial Black, Arial, Comic Sans MS, Courier New, Georgia, Impact, Times New Roman, Trebuchet, Verdana, and Webdings.

We used WPS Office 2019 (completely free) in this tutorial, here is an installation guide:

Please take note that with the release of Chrome OS 90,  the location of Linux Apps has been changed in the Chromebook’s settings.  Have a look at this tutorial, to see how to turn on Linux apps and then continue with the installation tutorial.

Commands Used:
1) sudo apt update
2) wget http://ftp.br.debian.org/debian/pool/contrib/m/msttcorefonts/ttf-mscorefonts-installer_3.7_all.deb
3) sudo dpkg -i ttf-mscorefonts-installer_3.7_all.deb
4) sudo apt -f install
