How to install Krita on a Chromebook in 2021

Today we are looking at how to install Krita on a Chromebook.  Please follow the video/audio guide as a tutorial where we explain the process step by step and use the commands below.

Please take note that audio rendering isn't working.

Please take note that with the release of Chrome OS 90,  the location of Linux Apps has been changed in the Chromebook’s settings.  Have a look at this tutorial, to see how to turn on Linux apps and then continue with the installation tutorial.

Update: with the release of Chrome OS 120, the Linux container on a Chromebook has been upgraded to a newer version.  This tutorial still works exactly as in the video, however, the first 3 commands are no longer required.  Hope it helps

Linux Version:
1) sudo echo deb bookworm main  | sudo tee -a /etc/apt/sources.list.d/krita.list
2) sudo apt update
3) sudo apt install krita
4) sudo rm /etc/apt/sources.list.d/krita.list
5) sudo apt update
