How to install Funkin' Kade Engine on a Chromebook


Today we are looking at how to install Friday Night Funkin' Kade Engine on a Chromebook.  Please follow the video/audio guide as a tutorial where we explain the process step by step and use the commands below.

You can expect some crashes and maybe a bit of lag but it does work.

We recommend that you use a new Linux Apps session when starting this tutorial.

Please take note that with the release of Chrome OS 90,  the location of Linux Apps has been changed in the Chromebook’s settings.  Have a look at this tutorial, to see how to turn on Linux apps and then continue with the installation tutorial.

Commands Used:
1) sudo dpkg --add-architecture i386
2) sudo apt update
3) sudo apt install wine winbind
4) winecfg
5) sudo apt install p7zip-full
6) 7z x 16_release_of_kade_engine.7z -okade
7) cd kade && wine Kade\ Engine.exe --disable-framerate-limit

Chrome Flags:
chrome://flags/#crostini-gpu-support
chrome://flags#scheduler-configuration

Use these commands instead:
1) sudo dpkg --add-architecture i386
2) sudo apt update
3) sudo apt install wine winbind
4) winecfg
5) sudo apt install p7zip-full
6) 7z x KadeEngine-1.4.1.7z
7) wine Funkin.exe --disable-framerate-limit
