How to install the Substance Launcher by Adobe on a Chromebook


Today we are looking at how to install the Substance Launcher by Adobe on a Chromebook.  Please follow the video/audio guide as a tutorial where we explain the process step by step and use the commands below.

Please take note that after you launched the application, and closed it,  you need to turn your Chromebook off and on again before you can launch the application again.

This tutorial will only work on Chromebooks with an Intel or AMD CPU (with Linux Apps Support) and not those with an ARM64 architecture CPU.

Commands Used:
1) sudo apt update
2) sudo apt install libnss3
3) wget https://download.substance3d.com/substance-launcher/linux/Substance%20Launcher-1.6.1-beta.411.linux-x86_64.AppImage
4) chmod 755 Substance\ Launcher-1.6.1-beta.411.linux-x86_64.AppImage 
5) sudo apt install menulibre
6) menulibre
